Dr. Subhawong is an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology, serves as the Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and is the director of the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology. He graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2002, and received his M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and subsequent MSK Radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
As a member of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, his research focuses on the discovery and assessment of imaging biomarkers in musculoskeletal tumors, with a particular interest in MRI. His work has been funded by the Radiological Society of North American and The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation. He serves as a consultant on the FDA’s Medical Devices Advisory Committee, as an associate editor for the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, and on the Consulting Editorial Board for Skeletal Radiology. He holds memberships in the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, Society for Skeletal Radiology, and International Skeletal Society.
